650W power supply good for this build
I was wondering if a 650W power supply would be okay for my build, this is my first build and I could use some tips.
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz
Core I5-6600K 3.50 GHz, 6 M Processor
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan
MSI Pro Solution Intel Z170A LGA 1151 Motherboard
NVIDIA GTX 1070 Founders Edition 8GB
Western Digital 1 TB 3.5-Inch 7200 RPM SATA III 64 MB Cache
I also plan on getting a SSD at some point too for my PC.

Hi sbowe19
Slightly higher Wattage sbowe19 to 750W-850W Gold certified unit for your setup would be best. Especially for any future expansion.
650w is a bare minimum and don't get Bronze certification. They are really for general purpose PCs and those on a budget.
Your PSU is the lifeblood of your system and not to be underestimated. We owe our existence to the scum of the earth, Cyanobacteria
My System Specs:
MB:ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero/WiFi GPU:EVGA GTX 1080 sc PSU:Corsair AX-1200i

I concur/agree with MeanMachine
He cited a perfect power ratio of Gold/Platinum 750W-850W that are certified.
You want your PSU running around 50% as max for longevity.
My Corsair AX1200 was bought during a much higher demanding GTX 4xx period and is still running perfect on my latest build as seen in my specs.
If I was to buy today a gaming system like yours, it would be either a 750/850 Gold/Platinum because SLI has become obsolete to me.Last edited by sk2play; 08-20-2016 at 08:20 PM.
