Cpu temperatures

Is it common cpu temperatures rise overtime when computer is aging? I am not 100% sure but i think while gaming they used to stay under 70c, even 65c but now i see temperatures like 73 even 75 in some cores while playing crysis 3. It must be cpu intensive game since when for example playing bioshock infinite temperatures stay well below 70c, 65-68 etc.

I have now almost 1 year old build, overclock is at 4.5ghz/1.28v 6600k. Will those over 70c temperatures harm cpu and should i consider better cooling like watercooling or noctua cooler? I have cm evo212 now.

Or should i adjust cpu fan curve from bios a bit more agressive, i have done qfan "optimize all" so far.

It's likely that the games you are playing now are simply more demanding. Unless you know the original temps for a specific game or benchmark it's going to be difficult to know for sure.

It's also possible that your thermal paste has become less effective. Usually that won't happen in just a year but you could try repasting to see if that helps.

Anyway i did some reading and it seems atleast under 75c temperatures are still ok for 6600k (somewhere in this forum i read under 65c), so no problem i guess.
