GTX1070 STRIX O8G - Suddenly very slow

Dear rog-community

Last week, i built a PC with following Specs:
CPU: i5 6600k with Hydro series H100i v2
Graphicscard: GTX1070 STRIX O8G-Gaming
Mainboard: ASUS Maximus VIII Ranger
RAM: HyperX Fury 2x8GB DDR4
PS: Corsair RM650i

After building, I installed GPU TweakII (run in gaming-mode, no overclocking so far) and the newest driver in GeForce Experience (Version 372.54).
I did the Valley-benchmark (Extreme HD preset, 1080p) and scored about 4000 points. Now, 5 days later, suddenly my games are on 10-20 fps and the Valley-benchmark scores only between 1100 and 1600 points.
The temperature stays under 60C though, so it feels like it is running in an eco mode or so with only 30% output...

What I tried so far:
- Reinstalling the driver
- Downgrading the driver
- Reinstalling GPU TweakII
- BIOS Reset
- Checking hardware -> Powersupply plugged in, all fans are running, LEDs work
- Running the benchmark with uninstalled GeForce Experience and drivers and GPU TweakII -> scores the same result

I have to say, that I'm quite new to this business, but before I send the GC back for Guarantee, I wanted to ask you guys if it might be a software problem 🙂

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi coeci

Welcome to the ROF forum.

Try installing nvidia driver 372.70 and do a custom advanced install, uncheck everything except the graphics driver and physx driver then check the only box that says perform a clean installation.

Does this fix the problem?
