QFan in Bios doesn't work - bios freeze

I'm having some issues with my Ranger motherboard.
My Bios Q-Fan Control "Optimize All" button doesn't work as intended.
It goes through my 4 case fans and my CPU fan and find the correct values but when it's done and the Qfan Tuning box appears and I click ok the box and the whole bios freezes and I can do nothing but power pressing the power button.
As automatic fan adjustment in "ASUS Dual Intelligent Processors" in "ASUS AI Suite 3" crashed my system as well I'm beginning to wonder if there's a Q-Fan chip or similar that could be broken.
Manually entering the settings for the fans doesn't make the bios crash/freeze.
    Video of the issue:

I've tried only having the CPU cooler connected and only the case fans connected to rule out the fans and both tests resulted in it freezing.

    Coolers connected:
    Fans:
    3 x Fractal Design FD-FAN-DYN-GP14-WT 140mm general purpose computer fan, 1000RPM, white
    1 x Fractal Design FD-FAN-SSR2-120 120mm Silent Series R2 case fan

    CPU cooler from:
    Cooler Master 212 Evo

    Bios:
    1701 (newest)

    Question:
You think my motherboard have a broken Q-fan controller? Do your "optimize all" button also make it freeze and on which z170 board do you have?

Could you try reflashing 1701 bios. If it doesn't work, could you unplug your fans and plug it back in. Check if the fans are PWN or DC.

    Thanks for the response @Legolas

I just tried reflashing the 1701 bios and running the automatic setup with default settings. Same freeze as before.

I've already unplugged+replugged all the fans when I tested if they were the issue. Ran 2 tests, tried with only the CPU cooler connected and with only the chassis fans connected = all fans being disconnected.

The 4-pin CPU cooler is PWN.
The 4 3-pin case fans that are connected CHA-FAN1+2+3+4 on the motherboard are set to DC.

I had a somewhat similar problem with Q-Fan on M8E on BIOS 1402. Making more than 1 or 2 adjustments in the graphical control will hang the BIOS, no keystroke or mouseclick will register, and I will have to hard reset. I think the Q-Fan is rather buggy. I just stick with Fan Xpert in Windows.

If you use the newest BIOS then I don't know what to think. Perhaps it's Ranger issue? I don't know what could cause this. I've never seen a non UEFI bios freeze like this and it and it wasn't because of overclock.

You aren't alone. "Optimize all" option never worked for me either and it froze my pc as well but manually adjusting or selecting specific setting for each fan works just fine.

Windows version of Q-Fan was also causing latency issues on my pc so i've uninstalled it along with AiSuite.

Just use separate settings for each fan and you'll be fine. Personally i only use the "Turbo" option for 2 CPU fans which can be quite loud at full speed and on Turbo it keeps my CPU below 40 at barely half the speed in games.

All the other fans (2 in and 1 out) are running at standard setting.

Q-Fan in M8G is also very buggy, on latest 1701. Optimize All will run in Q-Fan GUI, but will hang BIOS once it's complete, can't click the OK button to end the process, only a hard power off/reset can be done. Running the Optimize All in the Monitor tab runs and complete fine, but will give all sorts of weird minimum level for my PWM Gentle Typhoons, sometimes even returning 100 as the minimum.
