Same issue here (hero 8), updated the bios to 2202, but the microcode did not change, it is still ver 74

    EDIT:
Looks like they updated the kabylake microcode, not skylake.

    Hi there people,

This new version is also a bugged one for me. Since 1701 my XMP detection is totally broken. And I'm starting to give up on bios updates. I've tried everything and there's no way I could enable XMP on my Kingston 2400mhz. Only downgrading to 1701 or below works like a charm.

2202 boots really fast, much faster than previous bioses.

Sounds like the same issue I had in one of the older bios':

    Hey there, xator.
Yeah, I had the exact same thing happen... again... with my 2800 Ripjaw V kit. XMP immediately put it in a q-code 41 bootloop, and rolling it back to 1701 had, once again, fixed the issue.

    However...

I purchased a kit of TridentZ 3200, updated to 2202, and wouldn't you know it?

    A MIRACLE happened.

XMP enabled flawlessly, and has been rock-solid stable for a few days of heavy use/gaming. No issues whatsoever.
Until ASUS takes a look into the issue with certain lower speed kits, I doubt this is probably going to get resolved anytime soon (1701 came out, I believe, on 3/16 - So nothing in over 6 months).

Good luck. I know how frustrating this can be.

Seems to be the same issue, although I was using 1701 bios before this and it was working fine on it. I use Speedfan (and everything working as it should, fans set to manual in bios), so it's not a total loss.

I'm glad I saw this before installing. I just went from 1701 to 2202 and I cannot boot if I enable XMP. I also have Kingston 2400 ram (Savage)

If I don't enable the XMP profile it's fine. Guess I'll go back down to 1701.
