(Solved) GeForce GTX 1080 on Asus ROG G20CB

Updated the Asus ROG G20CB from a GTX 980 to a GTX 1080.I got a nice screen picture but the Nvidia refuses to install updated drivers when it tells me i got the wrong os !?.Strange when it earlier was working fine on a Windows 10 Pro x64 and now wont on a Windows 10 Home x64.And it dont show up in the device manager. What to do !?.

    Hi FonzieBulldog

Be sure you're installing the windows 10 64-bit version and not the 32-bit version.

Thanks for the reply and hope everything is well over there after the weather chaos.Well the GeForce was earlier in the Homebuilt computer with a Windows 10 Pro x64 and now on a Windows 10 Home x64.I am not sure if it is the 32/64 edition when i got a x86 map in the programs.Reinstalling the Windows system or deleting and install the Nvidia files is the question.Guess the later is better.Return when i have sorted this out and thanks for the help as usuall.
    Regards from Sweden.

Well, it is the Windows 10 x64 os system but Asus ROG G20CB wont recognize the GTX 1080 and it dont show up in the system manager.Thats why Nvidia refuse to install proper drivers when it cant find the GTX 1080.Change the pins in the Asus as in the video but mine dont have the same pins when this is the CB version.STRANGE.

Thanks.Tried that but the GTX 1080 still dont show up in the system manager and Nvidia wont install any drivers when it cant find the GTX.Something must be wrong with the pin configuration on the motherboard but how should it look when i dont have the same configuration as in the above youtube movie.Mine in the picture below who are missing these pins but instead already have a GTX 980 installed.Thats weird for sure :

Well, that was a surprise.Deleted all the earlier GTX drivers and restarted. All gone.Shut it down and reinstalled the GTX 980.Downloaded new drivers and there it was again.Maybe this Asus ROG G20CB aint have the compatibility to run the GTX 1080.Still open for suggestions before i try to install the I7-6700k and the Corsair water cooler through the case.

Sound like a power issue. On the video it shows the power jumpers JD something. Do you have something like that?

Yes but mine is not the same version as in the video who you could see in the photo i posted who i think is rather strange when i thought all Asus ROG G20 had the same motherboard. And the GTX 980 have a 6+6 pin connection but the GTX 1080 Have a 8 pin connection.Got some message on the screen when i first plugged the GTX 1080 wrong and changed it and everything was okey but still no GTX 1080.The net wires he installed on the video was already there in my version and istalled the same as in the video in my card but only the 4+2 pin connection wire had a place in the GTX 1080.

Found this video on a GTX 1070 in the Asus G20.Maybe it solve the problem if i ditch the 6 wire connection from the motherboard as in the video but I still dont have the change pin connection on my motherboard.Have to try and return with answer if it works.
