Hello all, i just wanted to ask if it is possible to upgrade my ROG G751JL GPU(GTX 965m)?

No, these GPUs are BGA, so they are soldered to the motherboard. You cannot upgrade it.

I think "discrete" is the term you mean. It's not an on-die CPU solution, but it's still soldered onto the motherboard. Outside of the cheap-ish Celvo's, laptops have abandoned socketed CPU and GPUs. Not to mention GPUs have their own RAM anyways, so a socket wouldn't work anymore.

Well, I mean in theory you could, but it would require some pretty good equipment like a reflow oven, and a way to source the new gpu chip, as well as if it would even be compatible.

So possible yes, but in practice, not really.

What you would want is a laptop that uses an mxm graphics card.
