I've "recently" bought a GL522VW-CN108T and I was wondering if it's possible to use an external GPU.
I've been looking at some options, but:
- The USB-C Type 3.1 is GEN 1 (so not GEN 2 or something like Thunderbolt 3), so I think that won't work for external GPU?
- The M.2 slot (where I currently put in an SSD says "SATA SSD ONLY", I'm not sure if that also means you can't connect an external GPU to it.
- I could take out the WiFi/Bluetooth controller (which is M.2 I believe) and connect the external GPU to that. This will disable my WiFi/Bluetooth but for gaming it can be an option.
Are there any other options I haven't looked at?
Besides selling my ASUS GL522VW whenever I feel I need a better videocard (and buy a laptop that supports e-GPU, probably Thunderbolt 3 (usb-c), since they've got some fancy docking/e-gpu for that).
