    Good god does it have to be THAT wide. 12-phase VRM, I know but an "L" layout for the VRMs is much much better, and worse yet the space and opportunity is there it just drives me crazy

    You have to understand PCB is important for endurance, usually PCB (VRM etc) dies before chip.
    Well, probably last ROG/STRIX AMD card, if they singed GPP.
