(G751JT) [GTX 970M] Stable Driver?

SwedishDragon

I recently updated drivers to '375.63', and while there has been no problems so far, i have a question for you others who have a 'G751JT' (or who are just in the know-how):

Do you know of a driver that is stable, and that is your so to speak "default rollback"-driver, and why? Does it have any noticable problems?

I'm asking just in case i do run into issues, as i can't remember the last stable driver i used, and the driver offered at the ASUS downloads/support seems a bit old (but I'm no wiz when it comes to these matters, so what do i know?). Anyway, does anyone have any recommendations or additional input in this case?

BTW: I do not care much for functions like DSR, and i'm using the integrated laptop screen.
PS2: As an extra note, i too have the colour banding issues that many others have reported with the 900-series of cards. It's a shame, really.

This might seem like a somewhat stupid question, but I ask because i have still not found a definitive/strong answer, despite lurking around the net for over a day.

PS3: It could also be that what driver is stable on a specific computer is completely individual (maybe even to systems of the same model), in which case most of this post becomes moot.

Hi SwedishDragon

I find 373.06 to be a good driver as well as the new one 375.63.

Someone said this on the GeForce forums, is this good advice or just what seems to be logical?

My question (Not my topic though):

Their reply:

Anyone have any input on this?

Also: On the GeForce website, the specs for the 970M seems a bit weird (http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gtx-970m/specifications) , at least when it comes to the memory specifications: "Memory Clock: 2500 MHz". Is that some kind of general, non-"brand"-specific number, as i can't find any readings of the GPU Clock, Memory Clock, Boost, Default Clock etc. that is even close to this number, though it is about half of what HWiNFO64 reports my "Effective Memory Clock" to be, but it has been bothering me a little bit, so does anyone know?

(I'm not getting my knickers in a twist over it though, I'm just curious.)
