    Recommended RAM

    Hello,

    Making a shopping list.

Wondering if anyone has RAM/model/speed/channel (dual vs quad) that they use and recommend for one of the Maximus Mobos & a 6700k?

I want to overclock to say 4.6Ghz mark for VR gaming / flight sims (i.e. not going to be flogging it to 5Ghz and beyond)

    thanks

I'm using the Fury DDR4 from HyperX with my Maximus VIII Extreme and i7-6700K. They work without hiccups.

Kingston HyperX Predator DDR4 is good so is G.Skill Trident Z.

A 16GB 3200MHz kit with the tightest timings would be good.

    Here's a 16GB 3200MHz CL14 Trident z kit.

If the Trident Z height could be a problem they come in Ripjaws Z too that are lower in height.

Im using also 3200mhz g.skill trident z 2x8gb set, work without problems. Only thing for me was that i had to up the dram voltage to 1.38 for Computer to boot. It is 1.35 in xmp settings.

Thank you to everyone who responded.

Seems Tridentz is quite popular so will go with that. Nice to see newegg shipping to Australia now too (Oz shops don't sell the Tridentz 3200 C14).

You'll get a lot of different opinions here but the answer is this. Decide what you want to spend on RAM. Find the part you like and then check the Asus comparability chart to ensure it will work.

If using a Air Cooler make sure that you have clearence between the ram and the heatsink. If not enough clearence thats why I suggested the the Ripjaws Z version.
