    Guaranty void after upgrading firmware

I have a problem with the OC module of my Rampage V Extreme. After I updated it with official Asus software it died. So I contacted support and was told that any guarantee on any Asus hardware is void if you do anything to it, including updating firmware. I asked if it was a joke and was told it was not so. I asked if it also included Norway, since we have some rather extreme laws compared to the US (not to talk about Asia), and got no good answer. I threatened to take the case to court, and received a vage answer. I asked for the address to use in a civil case against Asus, and was told to contact the shop I bought it in for an RMA.

Has anyone else run into a similar problem, or heard of anything like this? If it's with small letters on a page noone bothers to open it's most probably not valid in Norway, but I can't believe a guarantee is void if you install software (including FW) that Asus has on their own homepage, under support for the hardware in question.

I have never ever heard this on updating the firmware. My GeForce GTX is updating this firmware at least once a week and how should it look if it got destroyed by this firmware from the manufacturer.

Can you send me a PM with more details on the issue and also the CaseID or RMA#, I'll need these in order to follow up on this case.

    Thanks,
    Bahz

for RMA here you HAVE to send it in to the shop you did buy it from, we have 3 and 5 year warranties here.
