ASUS ROG Strix x99 high VRM temps...

Hello everyone, new member here, just made a switch from EVGA x99 classified to ASUS x99 strix, first ever asus board and unfortunately the switch has not been so pleasant... I had my evga x99 classy for 4-5 months with out a single hiccup and after I installed strix all hell broke loose... blue screens on cold boot, some timesii have to hit power button several times before pc actually boots, but I will be making a separate thread for that...

My concern at the moment is VRM running very hot, no overclocks, stock everything on idle VRM sits at 55-60c, when I boot a game it goes over 60, my evga board used to idle at 35c and around 40 while gaming... But here's what I noticed, on x99 strix not all components are covered by a heatsink, see pics below...

And now look at how it's covered on EVGA board...

Here's what the temperature of the uncovered modules...

Since you have a custom water loop, swap your CPU waterblock with one of EK's full coverage monoblocks:

should keep your VRMs cooler.

If you end up doing this, let me know how it works out.
