G752VS default RAM frequency

Hi all,

it has come to my attention that ASUS ships all G752VS with DDR4 2400MHz RAM sticks (official G752VS page). However, i7 6700HQ that's listed there, or i7 6820HK that is also used in G752VS configurations both specify that they only support DDR4-2133, LPDDR3-1866, DDR3L-1600.

Is there any particular reason why DDR4 2400MHz is used in the default configuration?

It's 2133 supported yes (by default), but overclocked to 2400 using a memory clock multiplier of 1.33 at 18 x 100Mhz BCLK, which allows PC4-19200 SO-DIMMs at 2400Mhz speeds to even be attainable.

I suspected this could be related to factory overclock for this OEM configuration, thanks for clearing that up 🙂
