New machine, need help choosing please

    Hello hello,
I am looking to put a new machine together.
    Just for gaming, nothing else.
I would like to O/C it when done.

So far this is what I got
    https://pcpartpicker.com/user/bobbagels/saved/bPKXLk

I think I would like to hold out for the 1080 Ti though. That should be soon from what I am reading.
I am unsure of a few things.
Not sure if I really need a M.2 drive. I mean, their nice, I have a 960 Pro in this machine that I use now and I dont think I really take advantage of it . All I do is game and surf mostly. And I know using a M.2 drive with this chip will cut down on lanes if I ever wanted to SLI (which I highly doubt because I do not plan on going 4K with this machine) (that might be the next one lol)
Also not sure about the memory, I chose that from reading other post's here.

Budget- Ugh. Right around where I am now I think. I dont like wasting $$, and I know the price is up there a bit, but this also includes a new monitor and and keyboard and stuff.
Please, I welcome all input .

Trust me if you have games on your ssd, they take advantage of the spped. Do you have RapidMode enabled in Samsung Magician? It increases ssd speed even further. I've got a Samsung EVO 500GB m.2 ssd in my Maximus VIII Hero pc. I'm using Magician's RapidMode and Asus's RAMCache. My read speeds are in the 1200mbps area.

That's an awesome gaming machine you're putting together.

I see that you've chosen a Samsung 850 Pro 512GB ($213.62) and Samsung 960 PRO 512GB ($328.99). For an extra $64, you can grab the Samsung 960 Pro 1TB for $605.99 and take advantage of its speed.

Or Samsung 960 EVO 1TB costs even less and almost as fast as the Pro $479.00

brkkab123, not sure running 2 ramchache programs at the same time is a good idea

    Hello hello,
Yea, I plan on putting the OS on the 960 Pro and games on the 850 pro.
    WD black for everything else.

if you choose this it will save you $40+ -> https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FrH...ve-mz75e500bam
its the same but a 500gig and not a pro, its an evo drive.

the mobo i would drop down a notch or so, its mainly used for OC and things like that.
for gaming i would run whit the boards below it.
