I know, I mentioned it in my post (PG27UQ)....
Anyone seen the LG32UD99 HDR mointor? Aesthetically it looks amazing, far better than the PG27UQ. I would pick it up but it has freesync, no independent backlighting zones and tops out at only 550nits; which is 450nits lower than what hdr requires if im not mistaken.

I agree a bit more real estate for 4k would be nice. Windows scaling does ok but it does not solve all the issues with 4k on a 27 inch panel. 30" would be perfect for 4K.

I have the Acer XB321HK ... the 32 inch G-Sync, 4k monitor. I can't imagine trying to do 4k on 27inches. Even with HDR and quantum dot. Not only that but it is now going to be $2,000 USD??? Wow.... This monitor with its 144MHz and G-sync is really for gamers. Gamers are really going to have to shell out a lot of money for this monitor. Of course it is the first of it's kind and once others come out, the price will drop. Next year it will be 4k at 200MHz or 5k at 100Mhz.

Funny, I almost went for that Acer myself. It was a toss up between the XB32 or the X34 or my rog PG348Q. I only hesitated on the XB32 because I've been using 120-144hz for a while now and I was worried about going back to 60hz. Anything above 120hz I personally cannot tell, but I can pick up the difference of 60hz vs 120hz. I'm torn. I have the juice to run 4K well but I really want a 30-32 inch panel for 4k. I'd even take 30-32" at 100-120mhz at 4k for the right price. Looking back I may have made a mistake not jumping to that 4k 32" Acer for a while.

Prices of hardware (for example 1080ti, good ones 1000 euros here in finland) and monitors are getting ridiculous...sure, 2000 dollars for a 27 inch monitor?...not going to happen with me. You get a good 55 inch 4k hdr oled tv with that price (those prices are also too high).

I currently have the 28 inch pb287q 4k monitor. Want to upgrade to bigger and better but I really don't want to pay that much for the same size screen even with HDR.
Was considering going the TV route for the same price seeing as there are larger curved, 4k , HDR quantum dot Tv's in the same price range.
After doing some research though none of these 4K TV's even have HDMI 2.0 much less Displayport (can you even get 60fps in games without that at 4k?), thier response times are in the horrid range of 14 -20 ms and of course no Gysnc.
Other than screen size can anyone explain why a serious PC gamer would ever use a TV instead of a monitor?

If it has HDR, I am going to buy it. I need a HDR monitor for my Pioneer UHD Blu-ray drive.

Totally different market segment. The Pro Art is aimed at content creation and is a 60hz panel, not 144Hz like the pg27UQ. The pro series has a much cleaner and crisper image with astounding color reproduction that make the 27 inch monitor pale in comparison, problem it peaks at 60 fps, done.

I'm definatley torn as well, I currently have the ASUS PB287q. Which is a 60hz, TN, no gysnc 4K panel.
I'm also looking at the Acer Predator 32 inch 4k, IPS, Gysnc.....but also would like quantum DOT, HDR and 144hz 4k on the PB27UQ...which is only 27''..........I'm literally(almost) pulling my hair out over this decision. Either monitor would be a huge upgrade over my current, especially a 32 incher..........but that HDR......and that 2nd gen IPS ......and those hertz....mmmmm.........but that 27 inches......meh.
