Sounds like a very good reason to use the original set up, using the IRST Raid driver over the AHCI driver????. I have no problems blocking driver updates I use GPEDIT and have the setting set to not download or install drivers. When I want to install a driver I download them and update them on my own time and preparedness in case something goes wrong.

GPEDIT control was returned to us with the CU Upgrade. If you don't have Pro or Enterprise versions There is a way to turn on GPEDIT in home version goggle it.

    Yeah, you'll be surprised though.
During the major updates, if there are changes, some settings are reset. Setting the radio button to never check for hardware drivers in Advanced System Properties, WSUS/WUSA will still detect something and cache it somewhere.
    I use WUSHOWHIDE.cab, with GPEDIT,

What is the problem and how can I fix it?

Your notebook is compatible with NVME not SATA M.2 SSD

    Asus G751 NVME BIOS Update

    Hello,
I opened up a new thread, how to upgrade the BIOS to NVME Support. Maybe you wanna take a look.
The ASUS G751-JY and other Modells with M.2 Slots are able to work properly after NVME Bios upgrade.
The Notebook gets even faster with the new supported NVME Protocol.

Yes, this is the OEM for G752 and other Asus Notebooks.
If you don't want to change BIOS Setting you'll have to tell us what the SATA setting in your BIOS/UEFI is set to now. It will be either RAID or AHCI

RAID you will have to get the RST driver out of your eSupport folder and have it ready to load during clean install.
If AHCI you shouldn't have to do anything but Image old drive and restore to the new drive or just Clone one to the other.
Ensure you boot whatever clone or Image programs recovery thumb drive to UEFI USB.

You can mod your BIOS for support NVME SSD.

    I am using this instructions:

    Hi THUNDERBOLT99
The solution described by FiXXXer1982 works. My ASUS G771JW now supports booting from NVMe SSD M.2 (KXG50ZNV512G NVMe TOSHIBA 512GB). If you still need, then I can write step-by-step guide for modifying the BIOS for G771JW.
