GL502VM randomly shut off and wouldn't restart?

Has anyone else had this happen? I had been playing games for probably about 10 hours that day, a mix of battlefield one and rise of the tomb raider. I was monitoring the temps and the cpu or gpu temps never went above 80 degrees, but could it still have overheated from just being at those high temps for so long? After the laptop shut down it wouldn't restart until around 6 hours later, but it is now working fine, so I don't think an RMA is an option.

Does this issue happen before? Or is this the first time you have experienced this?
Do you remember what was done before this happened? Any updates, installation taken place?
