    prime95 unstable

I did run a few stress tests including prime95 (28.10) today. Prime95 adds another 7-10 degrees hitting the 80 on one core which I think is a lot. AIDA64 or realbench do keep temps around 65. Also after a while 2 cores stop running. Rest seems fine. Still that is unstable.

Are you experienced with that problem? Does this also mean I will have to increase my core voltage? I tried VCCIN up a few steps, not hitting 1.95 though, but it did not really help.

    Thank you.

To be honest Alexauwa...Prime is a relic for stability testing to me...pretty irrelevant IMO

I can't remember version numbers but the latest versions can pull a lot of current that can damage the CPU (hence temperatures) and still leave you only "Prime stable". By that I mean that running Prime can often enough not be a foolproof test of stability. Systems that pass Prime can fall over playing a game or multitasking other programs.

RealBench much better test for me. I run stress test but also a few back to back runs of benchmark....1 hour of stress test and 2 or three passes of benchmark and system is good to go for the real stability testing....which is day to day use...

Prime version 27.xx better for pulling less current...if you want to use prime

And yes if a couple of workers stop it's some instability...and usually means you need a bit more Vcore to pass Prime

Lightbulb Performance increase over CPU Strap or BLCK Frequency

I had a good run through by now with stable results on 4.4. Thanks.

I was wondering if I can slightly tweak around with CPU strap or BLCK by keeping my core voltage untouched. Do you have any tips? What paramters will also be affected?

Strap I would leave alone...simply because you disable speedstep...which is one of the best features of intel chips...

Bclk you can tweak a bit...try 101..102...this will affect all busses... cpu higher as well as ram for example

Thanks. I am still running a fixed voltage for my 4.4 GHz on my 6850k. I plan to use the adaptive mode instead of fixed manual. What settings do I have to do in bios with my current voltage of 1.35v under full load?
