Not really problem Per se, looking for front panel 3.1 port. Am thinking it's so new that it's just not out mainstream yet. 3.0 should be plenty for the time being.

Yep, just not there yet. Give it some time. Thing is whats the point, putting a front panel port does squat if you have nothing that supports the protocol. To date the only USB 3.1 device I have is more aptly named micro SD USB type C card reader as thats about all it does is gives some flexibility in where you plug it in. No SSD on the market can obtain the speed yet. Wasnt that long ago the story was the same for USB 3.0.

Lian Li 3.1 Header Cable Purchased

I contacted Lian Li through their contact page (http://www.lian-li.com/en/contact-us/) and asked how I could buy the USB 3.1 header cable (PW-IC01NH45). They sell the cable directly for $29. Contact them through the form, ask to buy it, you Paypal them the money, and they ship it to you. Price includes shipping.

USB 3.0 is "sufficient" I guess, if you like 5Gbps. But we have motherboards that support 10Gbps USB 3.1...we should be able to use it! It's unfortunate that the cable isn't widely available yet, but that will come with time. Don't let others dissuade you from achieving the future!

I too am awaiting developments on USB 3.1...... I think it may be a long wait before we can purchase a front bay panel which will connect directly to the motherboard.

Not sure why case manufacturers are lagging on 3.1...it's been a ratified standard since 7/2013 (though 3.1 with USB-C was ratified in 3/2016). Looking forward to getting the Lian Li cable shipped and modding my case front to attach it, though.

    USB-C header cable arrived

The USB-C cable header arrived quickly. I plugged it into the motherboard and routed it through the case. I cut a hole in the front panel to mount the connector. It's not my best looking mod, but I now have USB-C on the front of the case. Hopefully ASUS offers this cable directly soon (or better yet, includes it with motherboards).

Thank you so much. It's really work for me too. They will send the cable here, in Brazil. It's expensive ($ 35,00 - including shipment) but there is not any other way to get it.
