Non-QVL List Memory Question

Virdog

Like an idiot I bought ram not on the QVL list for my new Code motherboard. What are my options as to using them to their maximum potential other than running them at stock speed?

I have an i7 7700K as the CPU and the RAM in question is - G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4000 (PC4 32000) Memory (Desktop Memory) Model F4-4000C18D-16GTZKW that I bought from Newegg.

I don't think the QVL list is all that important, really. I was a bit naive and expected XMP to work with my parts that are ON the QVL list but no such luck. I had to do quite a lot of tweaking and I'm not done yet.

The MemTweakIt program only displays the About tab. Would this be related to my current predicament?
