Did you mean:

Maximus IX Hero and X62 cooler - blocking first DIMM?

Anyone else having this issue with an AIO cooler and the Maximus IX Hero?

I'd say its a two fold problem:
1 - the cooler extends into the ports
2 - the TridentZ memory is kinda tall.

On a side note.. May I ask what case are you using? Has no relation to the issue I'm just curious. (I have the same mobo and cooler with the same issue)

He's using the NZXT H440 Purple/White.
I'd like to deploy my troops in her country.

Thanks! Forgot about the PC specs in the profile square.

yep, that's the one. I've also been posting it semi-mercilessly.

I don't know that I would put it on the board or ram as much as the cooler. Corsair AIOs wouldn't present this issue nor does any custom blocks that I know of.*
Honestly this is the first cooler I've seen on a CPU that came in from the side. Only option with this is rotate 90 degrees clockwise if the tubing will allow it. *

yeah, I've seen this AIO on other motherboards with all 4 memory sockets filled in. If I knew it was going to block the socket, I wouldn't have bought it.

I might see if I can return it. I wanted to see if anyone had any luck with other memory.

This one seems to fit

This guy rotated his cooler so he could fit it (nearly same motherboard)

Found these 2 replies in your second link. Keep in mind his build is on Hero VIII though.

I am doing a build on IX hero myself and was planning to use all DIMM slots and X62 cooler too. If I have to turn the pump 90 degrees to fit it all I won't mind but I won't love it either. lol

yeah, I was afraid turning it sideways would make the USB port hit the memory, but it looks like it doesn't. I might even be able to get a 90 degree USB plug for it if it did

On the NZXT product page of the X62 it states a RAM height clearance of 35MM. The gskill site lists the trident Z as you stated kinda tall at 44 mm. If you have any low profile sticks below 35mm I'd give those a shot before buying the 90 degree USB. They should be able to work. At least according NZXT.
