So what's going on with the G701 series?

Is it forever going to be set as high end only? I have no interest in spending ~$3000 on a laptop but I also have no interest in the slim line Strix laptops. I would have interest in a G752 loaded with a 1060/1070 but that's off the table with it having no XG2 support despite having TB3 support. What's going on here Asus?

Don't give up on the G752 not having XG Station 2 support just yet. It may still happen......I hope.

I'd actually prefer the 752 get the XG support since it's an established product with all the kinks worked out already. I'd even settle for an older 970m/980m version since I'll likely have a spare 1070 card floating around eventually. I'd just assumed the G701 was the G752 replacement but it doesn't seem that way.
