    Questions on Upgrading to 3401

Ok I am running bios 2202 just fine at the present time. No problems at all. OC'd to 47GHz (i7 6700k)
But at some point in the future, I want to install the Intel i7 7700k chip. Which this firmware does not support. So I will need to update the bios to a firmware that does. I am thinking of trying the 3401 update. The previous updates after 2202 seemed to have lots of issues for others. This latest one I am still not sure of to be honest. So I will still hold off for a while and read what other members are reporting on this latest update.

If I update at some point in the future thou, what is the best method, leave my OC settings on as they are now, OR BEFORE updating put everything back to stock settings, THEN update the bios??

2nd question, if I have issues and want to go back to 2202, do I rename the firmware to M8H.Cap like I see suggested, for my MAXIMUS VIII HERO ALPHA ??

Thanks for any tips and information guys, Mike.

Yes. Put all current bios setting to factory default, make sure it boots up. Then upgrade. And yes, youd have to use bios flashback to revert to an earlier bios build.

Thanks for the reply, I update to 3401 last night, and did put everything back to factory defaults, then booted to Windows. Rebooted again and used my usb stick to upgrade to 3401. It booted 2 times, upgrading itself, Then when back into my bios hit F5 again, saved, then booted into Windows 10.
I've had No problems at all, have everything oc'd back to where I was before, XMP runs fine also.

What RAM are you running at XMP? I would like to try the same but the past two BIOS updates will not let me boot at XMP settings.

Sure I am using the Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 . Everything is working fine, no problems with XMP either.
