Increasing Core Clock XFX 6950 in CrossfireX

USAdystopia

Both cards factory OC'd to 830MHz...slider only shows up to 840. MSI Afterburner would allow increases beyond with modification of the cfg file. How would this be enabled in GPU Tweak?

XFX graphic cards????

Not sure that your question is really all that applicable to this forum.

But this is what you need to do in Afterburner (AB)

Close Afterburner.
Open the folder where Afterburner is installed, right click on the MSIAfterburner.CFG file and EDIT.
Scroll down to the bottom to EnableUnofficialOverclocking = 0
Change the 0 to 1.
Save and close.
Start AB and clock away

Actually, a disclaimer is also required in Afterburner...ALREADY know how AB works. Have gotten core clock to 925MHz,, stable.

Why wouldn't it be applicable? Core clock in GPU Tweak is NOT able to moved past 840 for my yes, "X F X" graphic cards. How does one overcome that limit?

I guess I am surprised that a XFX graphic card owner is posting on a ASUS forum - logically one would think that support for a XFX product would be provided at a XFX forum.

No official support is provided for the ASUS GPU tool at this time, The tool is still in beta.

And the reason I posted that bit of information as to how one can change AB was a possibly clue as to how I would do the same with ASUS tool. 🙂

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Mate, use the latest beta available on the forum (at own risk). You can find it in the GPU Tweak BETA threat, last page - version 2.0.3.0. Now you have a overclock enhancer in the program that can lift the core and memory clocks way beyond the limit. Go into advanced mode and in the settings you will find it under tuning. As this is an asus product, it does not support other brands by default, but it's not impossible. Good luck.
