Attach some heatsinks to the chips with thermal adhesive.

If it really helps, Corsair should hire me
I have those heatsinks for 3 more ssd's.
Btw I haven't peeled of the copper stripe, just the sticker.
Stripe has it's own sticky tape (for the sticker to be attached), so I could stick the heatsinks even if they haven't got their own adhesive.

Well, can't say that I'm impressed.
The difference is 2-4c. Now sitting just under 50.
Maybe I really need to peel off the copper string, and stick the heatsinks directly to chips?
UPD: Removing the string wins about 1c, so no big difference.Last edited by Links; 03-18-2017 at 06:51 PM.

The adhesive pads may not have good thermal conductivity. Try some thermal adhesive glue or some other heatsinks. Or cut out a square section in the center of the adhesive pads and apply a small amount of thermal paste, might help?

Good idea, but in my case the hottest chip has very small surface to try and cut something.
I think I'll leave everything as it is right now.
I have achieved some progress, so it's still better, than it was before.Last edited by Links; 03-22-2017 at 01:36 PM.

Do you have any airflow around that area? No airflow = no cooling...
Even if you have the SSD under cover, you need to have airflow! Also, no point of heatasinks if you don't have - again - airflow...
When I was looking for a board, I ended up choosing one with uncovered M.2 place. The Samsung 960 was still running in middle 50ies (idle) until I added a fan to blow over it - now it's 26C (ambient 22C) while idle... haven't seen going over 60C under load (although wasn't watching it closely)...
