The fins are short on that one, meaning reduced effectiveness. Could try it out I guess

    Do yours little sinks help?

I agree, this one is short, but the sink is bigger overal, so it has more surface area.
I'm not sure, will I be able to stick a small sink on the controller chip itself, beacuse it has smaller surface comparing to memory chips, and juts up.

Shoul I peel off corsair sticker? I think I shouldn't, it aligns drive's surface.
    What do you think?

Yes it works quite well, reducing temps a lot idle is low 30's, normal usage mid 40's, and benchmark won't throttle. I did remove the Samsung sticker. Yes the surface should be sufficient area on that one, give it a shot

Sometimes you just have to do your homework and be patient. I ordered my 1TB 960 pro in Oct 2016 and didnt get it until first week of Jan 2017. I looked through all of them many times. Fact remains no one is even coming close to touching Samsung. If they did Id jump all over it.

Thing is now the M2s, well at least the fast ones, are at the point of saturation of the DMI link to the PCH controller. Going any faster will only show a difference if a PCIe card is used. I actually had 2 960 pros in raid zero and yanked one of them as it was pointless. No gain at all in sequential read although there was a decent gain in sequential writes but pointless. Sent the second one back and spent the $600+ on other hardware. 1 TB on M2 and 2 TB in two 850 evos in raid 0 is more than I need.

My nvme was installed at 2_1 (Maxumus Hero IX)...
Aida64 say under Sensors: 32°C idle
    Smart says "Temp Sensor 1: 32°C / Temp Sensor 2: 46°C"

When i play games, the Temp raises to a max of 41°C

How it is under heave write/read-load, i didnt know - but 65°C under "idle-conditions" seems a bit hot to me...

Set it in the 2_2 may help because the ssd isnt covered by the ram slots...

PS: Its a samsung 960 evo

I wouldnt peel off the sticker because you will loose your warrenty if you do so...

not sure, but the question with 2_2 is, if it is so much colder IN YOUR PC?

I mean, when i put my Nvme in 2_2, i think i will not win many...

My airflow is stricly for silence... sure, it is possible to get better temps...

As an other User wrote, in 2_2 his SSD was direct in the airflow of his 120mm fan from the radiator...
But is that the case in your tower?!?
I my tower, there is nearly NO differnce in the airflow for 2_1 and 2_2, so my stays in 2_1...

And yes, i seems that the MP500 in hotter then the Samsung: @HWL there say they startet the test @65°C at the MP500 and at 40°C at the Evo...
So 65°C seem totaly normal for the MP500!

But keep following in Mind: You can all so use the SSD in a Notebook with absolute NO airflow. And they will work there...

And last: You dont know where they measure the temps... maybe Corsair measures at a hotter point then samsung...
If you want, you can check your SMART under Aida64 - Samsung has there "Warning Composite Temperature Time" and a "Critical Composite Temperature Time"... if you have this too, and the timer is at "0" - i would leave everything as it is! Swapping to 2_2 may help, but you loose Port 5+6, what is maybe no problem, but the board is designed for ssds in 2_1... so i would not think that much about it...
