RVE & M.2 (NVMe) Issues

Etzuu

Hello,

I'm having difficulties getting my RVE board and my new M.2 NVMe (SM961) being recognized in PCIe 3.0x4. Currently the drive will only sit in PCIe 3.0x1, which severely limits performance:

62810

I've tried changing settings in the BIOS :
PCIEx8_4 and M.2 Configuration from Auto to M.2
PCIE Speed to Gen3

Anyone experience the same issue, or can point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

In this thread, ecamilo had the same problem and he fixed it by loading defaults in the bios. Read through this thread:

I've tried all those settings, including loading optimized defaults, NB PCI Controller(s) to Gen 3 (only thing identified is the card in Lane 1), Onboard controllers to M.2. Always the same result, stuck in PCIe 3.0 x1 😞

Do you have the drive installed in the m.2 slot or in a PCIe adapter in a PCIe slot?

What are the other SSDs?*

Thanks for the responses. To answer your questions:

1.) Installed in the M.2 slot
2.) 1x250GB Samsung EVO, 1x500GB Samsung EVO
3.) I have re-seated once -- but I will try again.

While you're at it, please clear the CMOS as well.

Did both, no change.
