Hey Guys, had the Formula IX for a while now, and have been using an EX Dual D5 for ages with no issues on the W_PUMP header with full PWM control.

However, I ended up here because tonight it just stopped working. I was using some TT Riing Fans (6 of em) and since they have their own control box that takes 3 fans each, and I had two of those control boxes (the control boxes also control the LED's in the fans), I was only using 2 fan headers on the motherboard to connect all 6 fans. So, when everything was working, I had the following setup: CPU and CPU_OPT had the 4-Pin cables going to each of the 2 TT Riing control boxes, that would run the 6 fans. CHA_2 fan was connected for a case fan. W_PUMP had a PWM splitter, controlling my 2 pumps. I was able to fully control both pumps (not independently of course) via PWM in the BIOS and also in AI Suite. I'd been doing this now for over a year on the Formula VIII and for a few months now on the Formula IX. Zero issues!

Now I got rid of the TT fans and replaced them with some ML120's. Because they each require their own connection, I'm using more motherboard headers. I'm now using CHA2, CHA3, CPU, CPU_OPT, H_AMP, which is a total of 5 headers, and to run the 6th fan I am using a PWM splitter off CHA3 which controls 2 of the 6 fans.

I was excited to run Fanxpert 4, since it's not compatible with the TT control boxes I had, so it had never done anything for me previously. I let Fanxpert run its tests... Now here's the thing, after (successfully) running Fanxpert 4 my water pump is running full tilt. And I cannot control it in the BIOS or Fanxpert anymore. I tried playing around with the BIOS settings, but to no avail. I've now got these wicked quiet fans and all i can hear is my pump running at 4800rpm >.<

So it seems I'm in the same boat as you guys now. But this WAS working! I need to do some more testing but my thoughts at this point are that some combination of fan headers in use is causing this.

Yeah fanxpert is great one of the reasons I have stuck with Asus motherboards over the years.

My guess is that before when the setup was "working" you was using the AIO water pump header as well as the water pump + header?

For some crazy unfortunate reason Asus decided to make the AIO water pump header the master and the water pump + header the slave
which gimps the water pump+ header when used by itself. Still waiting for a fix for this as I was told that it is possible but im sure that it wont happen now,
this chipset is all but forgotten by asus (:

Riing 3.00 with a 270E TT controller and the RIING RBG software

    Hey Guys somewhat on topic and somewhat off topic here;

Currently running a TT riing 3.0 AIO system with the TT fan controller as mentioned.

TT has come out with RGB control software that does not seem to recognize the fan controller when I have it plugged into the HAMP_FAN control as recommended on installation.

I have enabled the AIO control in PWM mode but cannot seem to control these fans or not sure how to validate if the pump is working to specification in the bios either.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

You should have been more specific. Are you saying that you have a thermaltake fan controller hub? If so it may not be compatible. I know that the swiftech and silverstone pwm hubs are compatible.

Also you say that you "have enabled the AIO control in PWM mode but cannot seem to control these fans". The AIO water pump header has nothing to do with the High Amp fan header.

As far i can tell, the pump in the aio port you can control the pump manually on temps by voltage.
The fans you can not. the box do that. speeds control silent or max that is 1500 I think. i did own one of those, and i ditch the fans since the only way to control those is by the box from thermaltake the fan port only give volts and tach measurements.(i think that is correct.) You can validate the pump using a monitoring app like HWINFO64.
