Rampage V Edition 10 not recognizing Intel SSD 6 M.2 NVMe

Hey everyone,

I am having issue with my new Rampage V Edition 10 board. It won't recognize my Intel SSD 6 M.2 Drive. I read a few post in regards of Rampage V Extreme in BIOS shows screen shots of users configuring PCIe4_1 to M.2. However I have no option of such in my boards BIOS/UEFI. Under PCH storage shows no tabs to change to M.2 mode. From what I gather my board supports NVMe drives I have seen other's built systems with such drives. This is a PCIe SSD, wondering if maybe I am missing a step somewhere. I don't think it should be this complicated to configure. the SSD works in friends computer but mines it just won't show M.2 option anywhere or allows me to change PCIe to it M.2 option.

Would I have better luck with a Samsung EVO or Pro M.2 drive? Any feedback or advice is thanked in advanced. I am considering returning the SSD or maybe my board is defected???? 😞

Thank you for help but there is no option for me to change PCIe to M.2. Under HD Audio controller. My CPU is also i7-6850K.

Here is screen shot of my Options. Bios 1502 I believe.

Another.

Have you updated the bios yet?

Yes it is BIOS 1502 according to Asus website https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-RAMPAGE-V-EDITION-10/HelpDesk_Download/

My Z97-K/USB3.1 M/B does not detect the Intel 600p either. Different chipset I know but maybe there's something about these M.2 drives and certain Asus M/Bs.

I have the identical screen shot with bios 1502. I have tried all of the 2016 bios updates with same screen shot. I can see the drive in the boot menu. I successfully installed windows 10 pro on the ssd. However it was not a nvme installation, and my boot times are very long.

Install Windows in UEFI mode. 😉
