G752VS-XS74K (Kaby Lake, 7th Gen Intel Core) Overheating Issue

Hello, I recently got a G752VS-XS74K. It is constantly overheating and restarting or black screening. I get an error message during startup (screenshot attached). I run through what it says and it does nothing. I have tried reinstalled the Drivers, ROG Gaming Center and many other apps. I have also fully restored the entire system multiple times. But it still overheats when playing any demanding games.

Any suggestions or comments are VERY welcome! Thank you all in advance.

And I I do get the ROG Gaming Center to load (usually when you do a "REPAIR" in the APPS control panel), it will not display any CPU readings. And if I try to switch the OC from "Extreme" to "Normal" it fails and give the same error. I do a restart info BIOS, reset to defaults and reboot. NOGO!

It appears like you are using an older or incorrect BIOS...

Try updating your BIOS and then try resetting to the "Normal" Game Center setting.

Mac,

Thank you for the suggestions. I have tried and tried all that many times. I don't have a copy of the BIOS to load. They are not on the support site. Please remember I am using a Kaby Lake processor. The other listings on the support site are for the 6th gen processor.

I have reinstalled ROG Gaming Center. Reformatted the PC. Reset the bios to default (F9). Nothing seems to work. I tried installing the Intel ETU and Afterburner but I don't know enough about overclocking to make a difference.

Basically I am to scared to break it if I mess up...lol!

I forgot to mention it might be better to use the version of the Gaming Center provided with the system...such as that in the eSupport folder...don't use the newer version from the support page (Unless you want too).

So, if you want to install the original Gaming Center...completely uninstall the Gaming Center and reinstall the Gaming Center from that in the eSupport folder.

Also, you can use the Live Install program from the eSupport file to install software/drivers as well.
Note: These are the original versions that ship and get installed with the system.

If you use Gaming Center it would be a good idea to update/install this as well...but make sure to check if you have a newer version installed or not beforehand.

Version V1.0.3

Might want to edit this for the future in case someone doesn't read beyond your post. The link MacLeod provided is the correct one for the XS74K Kaby-Lake models.

I really appreciate your help.

Yes, the first linked drivers are for the 6th gen Intel. So anyone, please don't flash that. The site just released a v300 bios.

They did nothing to fix the issue. I really don't want to return but it overheats on almost any demanding game. Kind defeats the purpose of the notebook.

I would recommend using Standard setting in Gaming Center for Gaming versus the Extreme...unless you follow the other guides regarding using Gaming Center and how to tweak the Custom settings...hence the voltages etc.
