Hi guys. How are you? I want to buy a new SSD and I am thinking about the Samsung 960 Evo, but reading some topics here I have a question. Does my mother board Asus Maximus VI Formula support this SSD with a PCI-E adapter? Can I boot the OS? With the pci-e adapter can I have all the 3200 Mbps read?
Thanks.

hi gucc
Yes, exactly Maximus VI Formula supports Samsung 960 Evo NVME
boot the OS if You want to install Win7 with legacy mode, at NVMe drives You will need to do integration of drivers into a Win7/8/10 image -

Just curious if you got one yet and have had any trouble getting it to work? I have the same motherboard and I can use Samsung Data Migration and clone the drive. I can see the drive in windows, I can format it and I can access it. However, for whatever reason this motherboard BIOS does NOT see the drive at all what so ever. It's preventing me from booting to it. Any advice on what I can try?

hello UsedBlueCrayOn. I am having the same issue. Installed a new NVMe Samsung 960 evo SSD to my new Asus ROG laptop. The laptop recognizes it, I can see it, use it, format it, etc, but BIOS doesn't see the drive. Therefore I can't boot from it.... Have you been able to find a fix? Any help would be appreciated.

TotesMakotes We had to insert the nvme module into one of the mother board bios versions. Then my motherboard reconized the ssd nvme as a pata device.
Here's the website that o used to solve the problem. In my case someone in the forum posted a bios versions for the Maximus vi formula with the nvme driver.*
It's now working 100%.
Hope this could help you.

Is there a reason you didn't use the included M.2 adapter on the M6F motherboard?

What kind of speeds do you get with it.

Can you boot from the drive?
