Yeah i also get the same issues, i'be tested on both my kits i back dated to 3202 anything newer than that creates all types of memory instability issues, you will find even on 2800Mhz when running a memory test it will fail in ether bluescreening your system or killing your video input which gets you a black screen, i've been debugging these issues for 2 weeks i recommend people to say on bios 3202.

That's a good recommendation. I've been testing bios 3202 for the first time today and 3000MHz was a trouble-free overclock.

Yeah it seems Asus didn't really test these newer bios's on Gen 5 chips theres not a issue when using Gen 6 chips, oh well almost time for X266 .

    Hello,

Yes it is worth noting that i was able to use the 100mhz strap on 2*** and now can't. I've tried many time and i can't really go over 2400/2666mhz on 100mhz now. Must use the 125mhz. I don't really mind but i can understand people that want to use adaptive voltage or other options to be pissed.

I ended up trading my 5930K with a 5960X gold chip and i can run my memory on 3200mhz on this bios again, so the issue related to how the bios is handling the IMC on the CPU.

    Exclamation Temperatures are way off

Hi! After I applied the 3504 BIOS update all my temperatures in AI Suite and AIDA64 went up by almost 10ºc. Anyone have the same issue? I can't trust my motherboards temperature sensors like this *cry*

Has anyone else had USB hub instability with this latest BIOS? If I plug in a high demand item, I tend to lose the entire root hub and lose all my devices. Any suggestions?

    BIOS won't update?

    Hello,

I'm not sure why, but I've downloaded the most current BIOS for my Rampage V Extreme/U3.1, put it on the same flash stick as the last six or so BIOS updates, rebooted into the BIOS, gone to the Flashback utility like I have before, pathed to the USB drive, and tried to upload the new firmware, and Flashback says that the file isn't a BIOS.

I've tried re-downloading it more than a dozen times, on different machines, and it always checksum's the same, I'm downloading it from the US ASUS site, and I'm at a loss. I can't figure out what the issue might be at this point, so I'm hoping someone has some idea.

Just checked the support site, and 3504 is the most current version, I've downloaded it, and done a bit compare and it's the same file that failed.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Hank

If the BIOS "EZ-Flash" doesn't work, try using another USB stick. Or use the USB Flashback method described HERE.
