    9943/9945 review

I had more issues with 9943/9945, Just a simple overclock to 3.9Ghz would crash Cinebench (with no other bios changes), works fine in older bios's.

My Corsair CMU32GX4M2C3200C16 (2 x 16G Modules), I was stuck on 2666Mhz in older bios's. With this new bios 99xx was able to get it too 2800/2933 and booting fine, but not 3200. So a bonus in increase ram speeds (Auto timings).

    My Wish list:
    • Ideally I'd like to get too 3200Mhz on my Corsair CMU32GX4M2C3200C16
    • Improve the overclock so it doesn't crash anymore, stablise the overclock a bit more.

what are the diferencies between 9943 and 9945? I flash 9943 and try to enable 3200 docp ram speed with the same result as 1007 bios.. crash!

I'm experiencing all of this at stock 2133mhz no OC whatsoever

I have some improvement with 9945. i need to check the bios to see if i can get my 16gb kit of gkzr @3600. I'm at the divider below it right now.

i could only set 3200mhz before on 1201.

i to am seeing overclocks on the cpu fail in cinebench r15 .....it's not due to ram cuz i can up the vcore to make it stop but it seems to me we now need more voltage to stabilize the cpu .....could be just my system i don't know ....but my ram is currently running at 3066 .....and i got some odd ball teamgroup ram i wish i'd never bought ....but because it wuz labeled as Teamgroup T-Force Dark R.O.G. (emphasis on the R.O.G.) i got it anyway.......it will run its only dcop(xmp) setting of 3000 mhz no problem ....ran 3200 for a while but all my testing shows this ram getting better scores at 3000 mhz ...lol....i dont get it man ....
working with this board and overclocking is like learning to overclock all over again! nothing i learned overclocking my 8350 to 5+ ghz applies here... lol
i still love this rig man ...it's fast when setup right ......
i have this weird thing going on where i can get things to boot and everything works fine ....i start to tweak voltages and i move ..for instance...i'll move SoC up one click .....no boot .....gets threw the initial post codes going on into windows and right before the password screen it shuts down and goes to a 08 or just a 8 Qcode ....then i go into bios and raise it one more time ....boots right in .... it happens on every thing, if i raise anything by just one click after seeing stability its freaks out. i normally tweak all my voltages out for best performance and i can not even get this done with bios doing this
but after using this all day i feel it is a major improvement over the past bios ....
i want to see ram so stable i don't need to run 96 ohms on ram and cpu....i had it down to 80 for a while but it failed after about 1 hour in aida64 mem stress test

let's talk settings ...what is everyone running for overclocks and voltages ?
Max is running right now at 4.050ghz with 1.4125 vcore ...SoC has to be 1.1 volts now or i can not boot .....
ram is 3066..(3064 in windows) running timings of 16-16-16-16-39-cr1 on 1.38 volts and PLL is currently letting me boot on 1.8 but it drops on the password screen alot so i raised it to 1.85 ....it seemed to help.....BUT even when PLL is sitting at 1.8 volts or 1.85 volts in windows it is always 1.87 volts.....
i do not like how the llc works on this board....
on my fx crosshair v formula z board llc keept the voltage steady ...all the time! it wuz awesome ....
but i set 1.4125 vcore or whatever is closest to that ....and in windows i am seeing 1.48 vcore voltage sometimes 1.508 volts
but when the cpu goes under load it drops to 1.43...llc should not even be kicking in until the cpu goes underload ...idling at 1.48 is nuts
all llc settings are left on auto because when i try to change them i can not even boot up...

but what i really love about this bios is the ability to get back into bios with out my side panel off when oc's fail......
its awesome i have yet to hit the reboot to bios button or clear bios button ...so this is a big plus to me cuz im always tweaking settings looking for that maximum performance i can get out this beast!......

What are the individual module sizes of your RAM and how many are there? Do you know which manufacturer and revision IC's? All this info will help give you a more accurate answer but, in general, if you have 2 x 8 modules start with ~60 Ohm and for 2 x 16 try ~80 Ohm. These are only starting values and you will likely have to try moving both up and down from there in small steps to reach full stability.
