I just flashed back to 9920 whenever I play world of warcraft the system would crash in 3008 I hope all is good now I'll test and let you all know

BUT that issue with the sound card.... I've been waiting for a solution for more than 3 MONTHS now.... nothing so far Asus...

You should really, really...never use the built-in sound card. On any motherboard.

When was the Beta BIOS 3008 file, last updated. I would be good to know this information. As I understand it when you update something you either change the version number or post a date to state the existing file have been updated.

Im honest, as i said it doesnt turn off SMT, even u did set it.
It will only disable 4 real cores and show u faked 8 cores which r only 4 real cores with SMT.

Also this doesnt explain why (if SMT is really off, which i doubt) that Black desert Online has NO fps increase by using 8 real cores instead of 4?
Because it did use 2x more % of the Cpu when turning SMT off but add no fps.

I ve tested it again and the fps dont increase but the cpu usage double.
My result is, that SMT isnt off, by seting that, the bios disable 4 cores.

This score is the result of 4cores, a weak i7 7700K reach this score (low ram + stock frequency).
And i ve tested my Ryzen 7 @3,5Ghz & 3000 32gb dualchannel ram, with SMT off, its a real 4core, the fps test & % usage in Black Desert Onine
confirm this.

Also, the i7 3930K 6core/12threads has 2,27 billion transistors and match a 4,8 billion Ryzen 7?
That makes no sense and im sure u see, it is a bug. The half of a Ryzen 7 has 2,4 billion~ transistors, this would make sense to the matching cb score of a i7 3930K.

That's the score you would expect with eight 3.5~3.6GHz Ryzen cores without SMT.

The reason the CPU usage PERCENTAGE doubles is because CPU usage % is a measure of per-thread total utilization divided by thread count - you cut the thread count in half, so the utilization percentage magically doubles. The game won't scale any better or worse with real cores or SMT threads, Ryzen is fully balanced - very few programs will have a difference in scaling with SMT on or off.

A Ryzen quad core WITH SMT only scores about 750~850 points in CB15 at 3.5GHz. You are scoring nearly 1,100! CB15 SMT scaling is right around 50% on Ryzen, which is exactly what you're seeing.

7700k is FAR from weak. It's slightly faster than Ryzen at the same clocks... and runs 1GHz or so faster at STOCK.

Another way to look at it is total core count * frequency.

7700k: 4 * 4.5GHz = 18
1700X: 8 * 3.5GHz = 28

Next, add up to 40% for Hyper-threading for 7700k = 25.2
Et, voila! Similar scores with a 7700k STOCK versus a stock-clocked 1700X without SMT. Or, more precisely, about 950 vs 1,100... with Ryzen still doing better than a CPU with 1GHz higher clocks...

There's some wiggle room on both with Ryzen's XFR and Skylake's slightly higher IPC, but the ratio is basically the same.

Your results tell me your SMT disabling is working perfectly fine.

Do yourself a favor: disable an entire CCX (AMD CBS -> Core/Thread Enablement -> 4 + 0) and enable SMT. Now test the score.

I ve did the test by seting in msconfig the thread numbers to 8, the result was even worse than the SMT off.
Also the cb score was at 790 instead of 1092, power draw was much lower, so this is only 4cores used i guess.

The % usage cant double coz thread numbers, since the game use the same numbers of real cores at the same spot.
I ve tested it 2x again, with SMT on and off, the cb score was same ~1090 @8/8 and 1590@8/16 but the behavior of the usage changed again.
the % was this time same with 10% gap (empty place on map, focused the same road way, all graphics lowed, no player or monsters or something that could increase it)
but i noticed it jumps up and down unusal compared to SMT on. also, the power draw changed while SMT on and off at 3,6ghz, hwmonitor shows (while cb run) at SMT off 90watt.
with SMT on its 112watt. Each time, i test these things, its different, the voltage is set manually, no offset or something that might change the results.

I let SMT on, i guess SMT off cause unusal behavior while playing.

I meant that a i7 7700K at stock with low ram is weak compared to the i7 7700K max oc & max ram.

Installed 3008, looked fine for a while , but i'm running into stability issues/crashes with some games (BF1 for example). Errors pointing to firmware (ie bios).
Going to revert to 1403 again, seeing that that has been the most stable one for me so far (no errors what so ever).

Okay, since flashing the 3008 bios, i cannot revert to any bios ... i'm getting the message " selected file not a proper bios", i've tried almost all the available bios files but they all get the same error.

I've aldo tried:

- renaming the file to CH6.cap and flashback, to no avail (three blinks and then nothing)
