I wholeheartedly recommend checking out Gamers Nexus, Science Studio or any other tech channel on youtube - they will provide you with the entire thing in video form. No sarcasm here, check them out - it will make things much, much clearer.

Yes, same here. 3.8GHz with whoping 1.46V in BIOS with CH6 bios 7403 and Ryzen 3900X (BIOS clock reported 3.8GHz).
Not sure why so high voltage by default in BIOS, since 1.3V would be more then enough even for worst cpu sample for 3.8GHz.

Otherwise, I don't have much issues - 3900x is boosting reasonably OK, 1-core boost observed (rarely though) up to 4.5GHz, typically 4.3-4.4GHz (voltages 1.4-1.5v, IMO a bit high but I guess this is how AMD designed).
All core PBO boost around 4-4.15GHz depending on stress load (4.0GHz on smallFFT in prime95 temp up to 80C, 4.1-4.15 typical in real apps, temps up to 75C). Cooling with Noctua NH-D14.

I'm using version 7704 published on 27 Dec 2019; the post runs faster, my 3900x in single core boost finally reaches and exceeds (rarely) 4.6 Ghz in single core with the energy profile of 1smus. I get lower scores in cinebenches (about 50 points) but I'm not entirely sure that the cause is the new version of the bios, I hope others can give us feedback.

Pretty much the same here. I have a 3900X and a 3600X two cores on both processors boost 25 Mhz above their rated boost. No more memory issues with this one. I hope 3rd gen Ryzen has a ipc gain. I am ok with the frequencies, I just want to see more work get done in the same power envelope.

Got myself 3700x, testing memory over and over again from reaching 100 % 2000 % ramtest over 2 days, I google search end up this link which I found interest.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comment...e_limit_boost/

Last day was running 3400/3466 fine, night time 3533 over 20k and still ongoing, that just on 1.35v. When trying 3600 1.45v 1.1v soc voltage and still won't do(below 2000%) even sometime hitting 500 %.

Issue could be the CH6 board and its topology of slots, which are not suited for 3600Mhz and higher... Have same issue myself. Up to 3533 works perfect, at 3600MHz works ok, but its only 99.99% stable, i.e. memory test fails sometimes at 500%, sometimes 200%, sometimes 2000% etc... Same CPU and same memory tried in friends X570 board at 3733MHz, no issues, but in mine CH6 would not even boot. So it is up to the board...

So relax and enjoy at 3533MHz @1.35V, difference to 3600MHz is really unnoticeable.

i got my system back stable with it's 64GB ram setup.

for some reason i updated to 7201 (what?! why?)
and i'm not sure what did the difference, what seems relevant is:
    - set ram voltage to 1.33v (instead of the default 1.35v) [because it shuts them off if loading too much current?]
    - set the power phase of the SOC to extreme
and a few other things that seem to be less related...

can someone tell me wheter the extreme power phase setting is a bad idea or not even a big deal?
i don't know what it does exactly...
    Having an ASUS board?
Increasing the Capabilities in your Digi+ VRM can prevent your hardware from being shut off (relaxes over-current condition).
Do it if you DID NOT set bad settings but didn't get it stable. (i.e. your hardware is for overclocking, high destiny, whatever).
