    Memory overclocking

    Good Afternoon,

I am having issues with ram overclocking on the new 370 hero motherboard. i have some corsair vengeance lpx 3200mhz ddr4 ram and cannot get it over 3000mhz.

my friend has another brand board and when he over-clocks the ram the BLK stays on 100.... all iv found on the asus hero doccp settings 1-5 only raise blk... am i overclocking wrong??
I can get the cpu stable on 4.0ghz
    1.4vcore
    1.25soc
    1.4 dram voltages

Every time i choose a doccp setting and choose a ddr4 memory speed nothing changes... running doccp 2 i can get 3000mhz stable but cannot raise blk any higher than 140 or it will crash...

IS THERE A WAY TO OC RAM WITHOUT RAISING BLK.....????? IS MEMORY OC BROKEN ATM???

ALSO GETTING CPU FAN SPEED ERROR ON THIS BIOS ALL THE TIME

Iv tried disabling gear down mode and all c states and putting in manual timings. also tried some gskill ddr4 ram as well with no wins....

    System Specs:
    8 core ryzen 1700
    corsair lpx 3200mhz ddr4 2x8G also tried G skil 3200mhz ddr4 2x8G
    Asus 370 hero motherboard
    gtx 1080ti
    Liquid cooling
    1250w psu
    500g ssd

I know. My point is I tried with 2 B-die kits and only one is working.
It is weird that the one working is Zadak511 3200 16-18-18, while G.SKill is 3600 16-16-16, so I would have expected GSkill to work at 3600 14-14-14, considering they work close with Asus for compatiblity.
On the other hand, the GSkill kit is working 4000 12-12-12 on M9 Apex, so it is not a problem with the kit.

Finally sorted. This is my fourth post, because I was certain I understood wtf I was doing. Seems not.

Anyways got my head around what needs to be done when setting up the timings manually. For anyone who wants to spend a couple of days working through timings start by using this link. I had to make a sheet up just to keep track of what I was changing, which helped me understand it in the end.

This set up ran through memtest86 zero errors. Probably the most serious couple of hours of my life. It comes back near to the 70ns latency. I was hoping for sub 70 but it wont drop any lower without finding errors (or at least not for me).

My voltages are dram on auto (1.35), Cpu offset +0.02500, soc offset+ 0.0375. Still getting the occasional cold boot error haven't tried upping the retries yet, that is next, it doesn't defer these settings actually work now.

    MI skew is left disabled
Bankswap enabled (disabled was causing cold boot errors)
gear down is also enabled. My system wont boot above 3333 with gear down disabled.
power down is disabled (still testing stuff)

Luckily, I've saved each bios on my flash drive, well I only have the last 3 revisions. Ahhh hell, I'll update and if I'm able to boot, I'll let you guys know.
I had the same problem then found out about G.Skill Flare X Black DDR4 PC25600/3200MHz CL14 2x8GB and bought it and installed it with a few reboots and shes runs sweet at 3200Mhz ...

    Question question about ram voltage

does anyone know if 1.4v is safe for ram? corsair vengence lpx 8gbx4, it takes more votlage with 4 sticks and takes 1.425v for my 1800x to hold 4ghz, i don't want to fry my parts, its pstate overclocked, goes up and down constantly accept during heavy workloads.

    New beta BIOS 1501

    * Workaround for some CPUs stuck at 22x ratio if using override voltage
    * Fixes PCIEX4 Bandwidth setting getting lost after power is removed
    * Same DRAM boot behavior as 1403 (no cold boot fix)
    * Same DRAM profiles as in 9920
    * Still has the Vcore value issue when booting with Offset Mode and switching to Manual Mode

For me this new Bios would be a step back. For me you fixed the cold boot bug with 9920. It keeps the ram seetings. I am running at 3494 CL15. So everything fine.

So why the decision to remove this?

And what I would need fixed is the Fan Tuning for the AI Suite to apply the proper speed to my W_IN Temp.

    Thanks a lot!

When are we actually going to see some of the important fixes make it into a new BIOS? I think fixing the cold boot issue and ensuring the AIO Pump and CPU Fan headers don't shut off are two issues that should be well ahead of what was done for 1501. I would also like to see the duplicate settings disappear, because setting them in one place and then having to double check in them in another is kind of annoying.
