I second that. I also flashed back to bios 9920, this by far gives me the best performance as long as I turn Both Performance Boost Options off. There is one in AI Tweaker, and another in the Advanced\AMD CBS\Zen Common Options. Disable Both, and 9920 seems to have by far the best stable performance, and no cold boot issue. (At Least its what works for me)

I can get my TridentZ 16 GB (8x2) 3200 MHz ram to run at 3200, but only for 4-5 on/off cycles. At the 5th soft off/on cycle, my system acts as if the BIOS has been reset (it hasn't been) by cycling on and off (long boot, as if powering on a new computer for the very first time), and after I get into Windows, my RAM speed is displayed as 2133. In BIOS, it is 3200. But I have to get into BIOS and then leave (no changes) for the RAM speed to be back to 3200 in Windows.

I have two identical 1800X systems that do this same exact thing. This happens on both 1602 and 1501, maybe even 1403. The previous versions simply give me a yellow RAM light and I have to go into BIOS, etc.

I tried manual overclocking, DOCP Standard, etc. I tried lowering the speed to around 3000, same issue. 2933 MHz works and has worked since the very beginning for me.

I don't get what this issue is.

The issue is BIOS related. Maybe when we start getting some fixes for the many issues with this board, that will hopefully make it in to the fixed category as well.

As Syaoran stated, it is bios related. The issue is that after a few cold/hard boots the boot process is put into recovery mode; recovering from a failed overclock or a bad bios setting. The ram speed setting for this safe boot process is 2133. It ignores what has been set in the bios itself to ensure the rig boots and the bios can be reached to change the setting that triggered the safe boot. That explains why after this happens by not booting into the bios immediately afterward the speed is correctly registered as 2133. What is wrong is that the safe boot was triggered in error.

Before a fix is released, set the number of times the computer will attempt to boot after failing ram training to like 3. That way the settings in the CBS section if they were changed from default are not reset. When the computer fails to post in this manor, the settings in the CBS section are reset to default.
