Nearly thought I had a motherboard issue when going from R7 1700X to R7 2700X and my temps spiked to 85+C on idle.. A few hours of looking thought uEFI settings is dawned on me the issue was not the bios, not cpu or motherboard issues... my H115i is in process of RMA. But on a CM Hyper 212 EVO with a Corsair SP120L, I'm impressed that is stays under 65C at load when gaming and off-time mining.

LOL. We don't even * officially * have 1.0.0.3 (or A or AB or ABB) yet...

Yesteday ASRock rolled out 1.0.0.3ABB for mostly all B3xx/X3xx/B4xx/X3xx Boards. Asus is a shame right now... truly! The funny thing is that they call the Crosshair/Hero Series "premium"...

BIOS 7201 - Is there a reason to upgrade?
Hello Community,
just wanna ask, if there is a reason, to upgrade from my 6903 Bios to 7201(C6H).
On the support/download site, there is "ZERO" information about changes.
I heared the 7106 has some problems with over-voltages. So I didn't concider to update jet.
But if there are features, that are worth to do so, I would give it a try. And only, if I could finaly run my DIMM's at 3466, as they're named.
Thanks and have a great weekLast edited by FoxTech; 08-12-2019 at 04:30 PM.

Hey there =)
The thing they say about UEFI/BIOS updates is one of the hardest lessons I could learn in this industry - and I'm not trying to be a smart ass here: "Never change a running system!". And that's true. If you do not have any issues and your components work according to your expectation - leave it be. Especially if you do not use a Zen 2 chip. I went from a 1600X to the 3600X and I was on 6903 for the majority of it's life - after it became available. The fan smoothing does not work at all but I just abandoned it and worked around it with a T-Probe. So - in all seriousness - leave it be. Wait until the truly mature Zen 2 UEFIs are out and then you can consider it.

Hey!
Thanks for your comment!
Yes, my system is running cool, fast enough and stable.
So there is no real reason for me to update the Bios. Its only, I would like to run my Dimms at the specs say.
There is also no real reason to hunt the last mhz. 3200 or 3466? Who cares.
So yep, I leave it. I'm still happy with my 1800x
Maybe later this year, I'll do a full upgrade. Or next year, when prices are going down.
So I have more time to consider about, what CPU I shall buy.
Just to mention it.
Thanks again and have a great week!
Greetings from AustriaGreetings
