    C6 BIOS 6301

    - Still AGESA 1.0.0.2
    - ACPI WMI sensor interface v2 (should not cause fan lockups together with updated software)
    - Supposedly fixes issues with some keyboards not working in UEFI
    - Other fixes as well, but nothing that was mentioned here IIRC

I told myself years ago, after having a lot of trouble with another overpriced Asus motherboard (Asus 780i Formula II if I recall correctly, which would randomly crash on playing videos, 1000's of posts on the forum and never got fixed) to never buy another Asus product again. After all these years sadly I broke my promise and bought the piece of crap shortly after the Ryzen launch. For more than a year I've been waiting now for this board to finally become stable, but it is still a BETA piece of crap.

Many times it will just refuse to post, sometimes taking a long time to get it back up and running again when I just quickly want to use my PC. Many times this means having to do a CMOS reset and having to retweak settings to make it somewhat stable. Now I installed this new bios (even though I've already lost hope in this product) and now I can't even set up anything before it crashes in BIOS. (I will not even go into the crappy fan control on this board... Damn how can you screw something up this badly)

I think I will just sell or throw away this piece of crap and buy something else, it's really not worth my time anymore and I doubt ASUS will ever get their act together. Thanks ASUS!

It will take a massive loss in sales to even remotely get Asus to consider thinking that they need to change their ways. Then again, LG's mobile division. Still hasn't learned after 12 years of straight losses.

Thanks for taking the time to link them Elmor. This is great news that the fan issues atleast got looked at early. I heard you guys were skipping the 1004 and going to the 1006 AGESA. Did AMD skip 1005 this time? Or is there something specific you guys are looking for to assist with the Crosshair VI in 1006?

So just to make sure I let memtest run last night for about 10 hours with 1 stick and it ran 10hours with 3 passes with no errors found. With this one stick it still crashes in the bios and fails to boot many times (took me another hour last night to get it to post).

Could you confirm something for me though? Since a while the Q-Code screen shows an 8 when the computer is turned off. This will even stay on when unplugging power and holding the power button, I don't recall I had this in the past but flashing back to an older BIOS doesn't change anything.

I will probably order a B450 board today to just be done with it. Anyone able to recommend a good board?

Q-Code display should not have anything when motherboard turned off or even when in "sleep".

I have owned C6H since launch, I pre-ordered before release so very early production/retail board. I have used several differing CPUs, GPUs and RAM kits with it and it has never failed to impress me. To me it seems you have some kinda HW issue which is causing you grieve with rig.

Q-Code 8 normally relates to CPU or memory instability. I would reseat the CPU if you haven't done so already. Some earlier CPU cooler mounting kits tend to put too much pressure at the rear if overtightened.
