I dunno about that, got the same experience with 6004. With 6101 voltage run normal but I got average speed lower than 1700.

Do I have to flash a new bios before installing a ryzen 2, or can I install the cpu and update the bios after entering the bios?

It is more than likely recommended that you update first. You do not need the CPU installed to use the recovery flash method to update your BIOS. All you need is a USB stick, power to the board, and the BIOS file you want to flash on that stick and put in the right USB port.

    Hey Shadowjump,

I just installed a 2700X today! I updated to 6004 yesterday in preparation. As 6004 has the very latest Agesa update for the new processors, seemed like a good idea to use it!

Everything running fine, no problems (yet?)

Problem is, I have installed a custom acrylic loop and I 'll have to disconnect many things. This is why I am asking if I can do it with the ryzen 2 on the mobo

You can update before first boot using flashback.

Tested 6004 and 6101. Very unstable in 6101 with both ram and cpu on 2700X. Everythings running fine on 6004 with the only issue being 3rd party apps are getting cpu temp reads over 100C while the cpu is actually at 48-52C. AMD Master and the Bios have the correct temp showing. I did not have this problem with 6001 or 6003 but since its a false positive and its not impacting performance I'll just leave 6004 for now.
