Before I flash a new BIOS version I always load default settings. The board came with BIOS 1002. I had to use CMOS reset for a couple of times, because I tried to figure out my RAM timings. So if I load optimized default settings the vcore goes up to 1.351V. But if I use an offset or the manual mode, the vcore is fixed to 1.308V. It doesn't matter if I use p-state or not. And the showing temperature can't be right. The temperature outside the pc is over 30 degrees Celsius. So it's impossible that the CPU temperature is round about 18 degrees Celsius. The cold boot bug still exists, if I go for 3200Mhz for the DRAM. I'm using 16GB modules and I need a ProcODT of 80Ohm to get a post. If I stick with the AUTO ProcODT setting (53.3Ohm), the maximum I can reach is 2666Mhz. In this case there is no cold boot bug. Well, maybe I should flash the BIOS back to 1201 and then again to 1401.

    2200 Mhz lock

    Hi everyone,

    playing around with version 1401.
    1700x with Trident Z 3200 CL14.

With the fresh Bios and DCOP for 3200 - rest stock - everything is fine.

Also when the BCLK ist set to 104.8, CPU Core Ratio 37,5, Memory 3213 Mhz, CPU Voltage 1.35, DRAM Voltage 1.35 and PLL 1.8.
Load Line Level 1 and CPU Current Capability 140%.

Everything fine with the clocks. System not yet stable.

If BCLK 99.8, 100 or 100.2 and settings like above, then i am stuck with 2200 Mhz.

Any ideas? Otherwise i will have to get the 104.8 stable :-D

    Edit:
BCLK 104.8 stable with CPU Voltage of 1.375

Increase at least load line to level 3 and DRAM voltage to 1.365.

Run AIDA64 minimum 1 hour and let us know the results

Cold *boot issue is a big problem and also the setting won’t stay when you cold boot. It directly jumps to 2133mhz and I have to restart and get to bios and click on save and reset to get the setting working again. This is really frustrating*

    HI!

What BIOS were you using to make this work? I HAVE THE EXACTLY SAME RAM AND IT WOULD NOT GO PAST 2666MHZ.

    AGESA 1006 RC4 official UEFI 1401

Just tested quickly 3600 memory and cold booting, seems good but you guys are going to have to help me test this before we have a judgement. Seems CPU temp reading from SIO now has -20*C offset for XFR enabled CPUs.

    UEFI build 1107

    Older test builds:

    Test BIOS 0079

Test BIOS with new AGESA 1004a, with a couple of bugfixes. Up to 5% performance increases in specific applications. Also has P-state overclocking working with BCLK increase. If you want to keep C-states, make sure to set Advanced\AMD CBS\Zen Common Options\Global C-state Control = Enabled. There are two new settings under AMD CBS\UMC Common Options\DDR4 Common Options\ you might want to take a look at, Fail_CNT and ProcODT. Fail_CNT decides how many times to retry when DRAM training fails (F9 -> 0d), default is now 1. ProcODT can help improve your DRAM overclocking. There's a setting available also on previous BIOSes under AMD CBS\UMC Common Options\DRAM Memory Mapping named BankGroupSwap. If you have 2x Single-Rank modules you can try setting this to Disabled and you might see some performance boost in certain applications.

    Test BIOS 0081

Same as 0079 but has ProcODT default = 53.3 ohm

    Test BIOS 0082

Same as 0081 but with a DRAM compability patch for the below part numbers

    Test BIOS 0083

Same as 0081 but with "2T" DRAM Mode when using above 2666 DRAM Ratio.

I can confirm that the following RAM works better on 1401 and it's not on the list: CMU32GX4M2C3200C16R
It can run at 2933. 2x 16GB sticks. Corsair Vengeance RED LED 3200Mhz (rated at 3200 but it can run at 2933 max).

I run them at 3066 14-14-14-30 stable, actually.

No RAM speed improvement on 1403 BIOS. RAM PART NO: CMU32GX4M2C3200C16R
It can run at 2933. 2x 16GB sticks. Corsair Vengeance RED LED 3200Mhz (rated at 3200 but it can run at 2933 max). This could run 2933 on 1401 BIOS as well.

Okay, I managed to fix the cold boot issue in my case. Just had to set the start DRAM Voltage to 1.35V as well.
