That is *if* Asus decides to do us the honour of giving C VI boards an update. AMD will support the socket, but board manufacturers can choose to stop updating at any point.

True, but the question I answered wasn't directly aimed at Asus compatability. I feel it was a general question =)

And, if they don't, this will probably be my last board from Asus. (Unless next-gen. really doesn't work on former chipsets)

We all have to face it now. ASUS used to support the ROG brand very well. That is what influenced my purchase decision. C7H is the board being supported while the C6H is EOL. I will be upgrading to Zen2 next year but more than likely, sadly ASUS will not be on my list because of their poor customer relations regarding the C6H. ASUS in my book is an Intel whore.

I see Asus differently to how I use to view them before I bought this board. This is my first ROG board and as of right now I don't see myself inclined to spend the extra on buying another one in the future. There seems to have been a change in attitude at Asus regarding hardware support, that unfortunately we've all found out about after buying this motherboard. It doesn't seem like the same company to me that it used to be; where Asus meant 'a cut above' when it came to choosing hardware; but not (as I see it) anymore.

Agreed. Plenty of flagship boards that rival Asus's and come in quite a bit cheaper. I know Gigabyte and MSI are keeping the updates coming and I will be going back to one of them for my 500 series.

That CERTAINLY makes me feel a lot better about the state of support for this motherboard. Hopefully its stable and won't cause many drama's. I was worried this new 6401 bios would be AT LEAST months away, given the very recent official 6302 bios release. Thank you Asus for coming through with the new bios. Cheers.
