While CPU has been available for end-users (consumers) for 3 days, that doesn't mean vendors like Asus wouldn't have had chance to use/test Ryzen at least for a month. Also, it should not come as a surprise that launch was 7/7 so planning etc everything needs to reflect that. If they can't keep up with BIOS releases for each MB/platform they still support, they need to add more staff, reduce number of available models or sell MB's shorter period of time so they would go EoL quicker. Simple as that.

Btw, Asus is doing same mistake again with 570X launch, ROG Crosshair VIII Hero and ASUS ROG Strix X570-E don't have much difference, yet it adds complexity to their lineup and will cause issues with future upgrade.

PS. This launch was extremely easy for MB vendors, compared to e.g. Ryzen 1st gen launch (Q1/2017), during that time Intel also rolled out their Kaby Lake which I can understand created timing etc issues but nothing from Intel now so MB vendors were able to focus 100% on AMD.
EDIT: Not to mention X570 was designed in-house by AMD without any 3rd party involvement so collaboration between MB vendors and AMD was seamless compared to previous releases.

I am curious to see if the 3700x will work with my crosshair vi hero, has anyone else had any positive experiences with the new ryzens?

I've seen great results with CH VI on other forums, high cpu clocks, high memory clocks. No need to worry, overall a fine board!

Bioses from Asus still buggy though, expect some quirks.

What forums are those? For each person saying it works fine there is another person saying they can't even POST.

Installed a 3600 yesterday and if nothing else the boards posts and starts up.

Have not yet had the chance to dial in my RAM's timings though, so that's with 2133 rather than tight timings.

Can't use my mouse though and as a result my fans get rather loud/noisy. Keyboard tabing seems to only allow for profile switching but not for manual curve adjustment(s).

    Quite annoying.

Ultimately, given that AM4 has just turned 3 years I've long lost any sort of goodwill for any board manufacturer.

The sheer incompetence reeks of intel complacency.

sweclockers.com, overclock.net both have users with successful results.

Known bug in all Asus 1.0.0.2 bioses, you can use AISuite III to set the fans instead, works fine. Boot voltage is also too low in those bioses, it sets itself at 1.2V default which is barely for 2400MHz RAM speed. You need to set 1.35-1.4V manually if going to 3000MHz and above. 3200 is what is supported, but ideally you should try to reach at least 3600c16 to get IF up to 1800MHz which improves performance. Not all will be able to do that, but it's worth trying.

Above 3600MHz IF automatically downclocks to half it speed, unless you lock the new option Fclk to in example 1866MHz for 3733MHz RAM speed.

Potentially, but that'd also only be limited to Windows

I'm not a fan of manufacturer software and stay clear as much as I can. I'm more lenient towards broken software but not so much towards broken BIOSes.

The system isn't new and only the CPU was swapped (1700X -> 3600).

The RAM used to do 3200 @ RAM Calc 'FAST' just fine - whether it'll stay that way I'll have to see later tonight.

Ryzen 7 3700X runs so far.

Just when I start I need to clear CMOS end load the Settings again.

Increasing DRAM boot voltage, as mentioned earlier, should fix that.
