    Question

Is there any good step by step quide to overclock RAM that even beginner overclocker can understand? I already tried DOCP thing and some manual OC'ing. Obviously something went wrong because all my games crash after around 15 minutes. Everything else seems working fine.

Did you try just typing in the XMP profile manually?

the sweet spot for ProcODT on CH6 seems to be 60ohms... raja gave 80ohms as a starting point. I went upwards from around 30ohms. my system wouldn't boot at 86ohms.

this is at 3466mhz 2x8gb g.skill trident rgb 4266mhz ram. and I say 60ohms is the sweet spot as so many others are finding their ch6 stable at this setting at different speeds with different ram.

The required ProcODT depends on the memory IC, single/dual sided DIMMs, board/DIMM PCB/CPU combo, and number of slots populated. No blanket silver bullet value for all types, just ballpark values. Generally, TridentZ non-RGB in 2X16GB format (1 DPC) favors 80 Ohms as a starting point (Stilt and Elmor confirmed, too). 80 ohms was only ever recommended for dual-sided b-die, not single-sided kits. Let's not take things out of context, again.

The GSkill RGB kits use a different PCB from normal TridentZ, so may have different optimal drive/termination requirements (of course, how comprehensive one is in testing, goes a long way, too).

    Hello

I have used several different sets of memory both 8GB and 16GB density modules. Although I have found stability with ODT values ranging from 34.3 through 96 Ohms I don't believe I have ever found 60 Ohms to be an optimal setting with any of the configurations. As my memory overclock results are somewhat above average done with proper stability testing I think these various values being optimal depending on configuration are pretty much spot on. As Raja wrote the correct ODT value is dependent on many variables and stating a single value as a "sweet spot" based on limited testing is not helpful to users reading these posts.

Have used both conventional non-RGB Trident b-die and RGB kits here. Neither found 60 to be the best value either for stability or requirIng the least amount of voltage. It's recommended to take a systematic approach until the system is able to POST consistently, and the least amount of voltage is required for stability. Some settings can make or break memory settings even if stable at POST level. I can say with some certainty that some users will be using more memory voltage than what they may otherwise need because they're using a less than optimal ODT value. Certainly not helpful to make a sweeping statement with an ODT setting that covers every user under the same roof

well we'll see as I have another kit arriving in 2 days... if that kit of single sided B-die also boots and is stable@3466mhz at 60 ohms id say I might of found a sweet spot for my memory and my board. I would imagine others with the same ram might do well with the same settings.

    Hello Community

I thought, I post my timings for HyperX Fury - KHX2666C15D4/8G, because there are not much infos out there.

The settings for the 2666 are a bit different to what the sticker on the DIM tells (15-17-17-35-60)
I have to go away with 16-17-17-35-60

    2800 will work fine with 16-16-16-39-63 @ 1,2v
Unfortunately I can't get any higer mhz out of this 4x8gb kit
Tried 2933, 3066 and 3200 with timings up to 22/24! and voltage up to 1,35

    Update:

After the "AURA" update, 2933Mhz is working now.

    Timings are 16-17-17-35-66-1T @60 Ohms

Some memory OC statistics (Ryzen platform only). Could be useful, I think ;)

    Thanks Diaaablo

    It is helpful!
I'm just wondering, if my 2666 Dimms would run at 3200 too.
Guess, timings wll be very ugly then...

    post scriptum:

My Memory is not listet in the list, you linked above but Asus put it in the QVL

    I use KHX2666C15D4/8G
