Pg278q getting RMA

Hey guys
I purchased my PG278Q in Nov of 2016.
I fell in love with the 144hz gsync.

Later towards Jan 2017 I noticed the bottom left screen has a deformity.
It's not a scratch or damage. But their are white spots.
So I opened a ticket and they approved the RMA but I wanted a replacement cross shipped.
Till today they don't have any in stock, so I have to bite the bullet and send mine in for repairs.
So is this model discontinued?
Because PG278QR is an updated version?
Or is the PG278Q still in production?
I don't like this situation.*

They probably just don't have any that were previously repaired at this time, so they can't send you a fixed one before you send yours in. on the bright side it means your are more likely to get back your current monitor after it's repaired vs some random refurbished model. So you got that going for you at least.

I don't know about whats currently being manufactured, someone else might know though. I'm just not current.

The PG278Q is no longer in production and discontinued, since the PG278QR is now out.
