Destiny 2 is the best shooter I've ever played, it gets tougher as it goes and you need to level up your character to play the higher ranked quests. I finished the story but the game is nowhere near over, there are still many quests to do to continue leveling up your character, weapons and armor.
This game reminds me of a cross between Doom and Halo with more things to do and is done very well.

Wow what a game, here is the last mission of the story. I played it through and didn't realize I was at the end but I got a side mission to fight Ghaul again.
He is one tough son of a gun.

M.2_1 Cover Plate
Any chance you all could answer this for me. My m.2 drive in the 1 port seems to remain pretty hot at an 57^c average temp. I left the m.2_1 cover plate on. Did you all do the same or did you leave it off after installing the drive?
Thanks,
Chip

Hi chiptouz
I don't have an M.2 drive but leaving the cover off should help lower temps.

New toy
Chiptouz, I've tried that with a M.2 drive with cover on the Maximus Code board and yes it will get hot, you can switch it out for the included bracket that came with the board or opt for a AIC which is what I did. As I recall the newer chipset boards now have a integrated fan to help cool that M.2 slot.
Well Nate, I went ahead and got a new toy, retired my 7600k for a 7700k for $hits and giggle$ since it was on sale for black friday at $249. It's not a bad chip. Without being delidded I can keep it under 85C under stress, havent got to game with it though so we'll see what the avg temps will be tonight. So far it been stable at 5.2GHz with settings below, I can get into Windows with 5.3 but blue screen and that was with 1.45v/LLC5/-2AVXoffset. Coolermaster Nano TIM. EKWB nickel/acetal waterblock. Twin 120mm rad, Straight distilled.
Batch# X734C813
Made in Vietnam
(purchased from microcenter)
Sync all cores 52
Adaptive voltage , no offset 1.437v
AVX offset -2
LLC 6
Current Capability 140%
CPU Phase: Extreme
Corsair XMP 3600 is also running at 3866, havent tried 4000.

Nice CODE MAXIMUS, you have a very good overclocking 7700k !
Our cpu's look similar, mine needs 1.440v for 5.2GHz.
Are you noticing any performance gain over the 7600k ?

Most definitely, the hyper threading helps out with programs running in the background without affecting game performance as well as just running multiple programs simultaneously in Windows. I'm averaging around 60C while gaming in Destiny 2, haven't tested with Overwatch but that game always runs cooler. What I cannot figure out is why by default settings chip was boosting to 4.5 and stock intel turbo boost is 4.2, I thought it was ASUS multicore enhancement but I turned that off and it still boosted to 4.5. Still scratching my head on that one. Overall system feels more "snappier".

WOW! Got memory up to 4000Mhz Nate, I couldn't never get that with these same modules on my 7600k. Got up to 90C with RB benchmark but hey no throttling!
Now just need to replace my GTX1070 for a 1080Ti and I should be good to go. I know you want me to wait on Volta but it's killing me I cannot get a constant 144Mhz / fps on my ROG PG279Q with Destiny 2.

That is awesome, 15-15-15-36-2T at 4000MHz ?
WOW, you get her running at the speed of light !
That will definitely help with minimum FPS.Last edited by Nate152; 12-07-2017 at 05:34 PM.
