Kay update: Everything seems to be fairly stable. Managed to get all my configs back up and no major hassles. The fan setup appers fixed too. Nothing to complain for now.

Just updated from 2001. Everything is working fine here. Even my Logitech G810 keyboard working seamlessly in bios. OCed @4.6 1.315v XMP @3000 Working ok. Automatic fan tuning working as it should also. Haven't notice any boot time improvement though.

It's good to see this update, so far, isn't causing the issues that the last one did. One question for all of you who've done the update. How did you update? From with the bios off a usb stick or hard drive? Or update with USB flashback?

So my Maximus VIII Hero BIOS update went smooth, no problems, went from 2202 to 3401 no problems, the ME FW is what it should be 11.6.10.1196, put in all my settings and seems to be good, still not sure why my Maximus VIII Formula is giving me issues, going to wait to hear back fro ASUS and see what they say, may just need a new BIOS chip sent to me, we will see, anyone else having the ME FW 0.0.0.0 or post code 7F issue??? Was thinking of starting a new topic on this also...

    Hey everyone.

Like a few others here, took the jump and updated my Maximus 8 Hero from the rock-solid stable 2202 to the shiny new 3401 this morning.
So far, my experience has been positive. XMP and CPU overclock settings seem to be at this point working as they should without any special tweaking. ME FW is set at 11.6.10.1196, just like Scorpion's post above.
As always, your mileage may vary from my experience, but after numerous reboots (none of which appear to be any faster than 2202 for me), running games, and some GPU benchmarking - everything RIGHT NOW is looking stable and working properly.

As has been noticed for me with other 3xxx BIOS, default settings still had boot set to Legacy OS for some reason, and not UEFI. Set it back manually, and it's fine.

I'll update this post if anything becomes strange or broken, but hopefully it remains as stable as it seems to be right now. Hopefully everyone else who updates has the same positive experience.

    Best of luck.
In dreams, I walk with you.

I also confirm that it is stable changed from 2202 to 3401.

I tried the 3201, but seeing that it had lag in play and the power supply was warmed up, I decided to go back to 2202.

I have tried it with Mass Effect Andromeda, there is no lag, correct temperatures, correct loading times, all the same as the 2202, except for a slight performance improvement in fps of 1 - 1.5 fps more, great.

    Thanks ASUS
