DO you get a BSOD or an overclocking failed message?

Does it boot at 4.9GHz with 1.35v ?

Forst things first and that is if you are going to OC in BIOS I would disable AI Suite if you were using it, I don't even use so it's not installed on my machine and you asked how to OC in BIOS, so one or the other. Next is once you have disabled or uninstalled AI Suite go into BIOS and "Load Optimized Defaults" and reboot. Now before you reboot you can make sure your Storage controller is configured but make sure everything else is at defaults so "Load Optimized Defaults, configure storage controller IE; AHCI, PCIe, IDE, then Save in BIOS. By loading Optimized Defaults it should put your memory at 2133MHz. Now you have a clean slate to start from. Here's picture from my BIOS with the changes I had to make to get my chip to 5151MHz, it's a Z270 board but it should be somewhat similiar minus the AVX negative offset. So put away with AI Suite, Only use BIOS for changes, Load Optimized Defaults before you begin your overclocking adventure. I've noted everything in red rectangles that are changes for CPU overclock, they are for CPU overclock only not memory or Uncore Cache. First make sure you know your limit on CPU overclock then move to memory and finally uncore cache is you want. My chip is a 7600K and it's not fully stable with 1hr of realbench with my cooling beyond 5176MHz and I've had up it 1.456v. For gaming it average about 55c.

What changes did you make where now it only post, try holding down the power button after it post, once PC turns off, reboot and keep pressing the delete key to see if you can get into BIOS. If you get in, immediately Load Optimized Defaults, configure your storage and save changes.

I've got my 7700K running at
    4.9Ghz
    cache 4.7
    Ram 3200
    Vcore in Bios 1.285
    Dram 1.35
Real Bench stable 2hrs cpu doesn't go past 75c. Custom water loop. CPU was delid and relid.

Everything else in bios pretty much untouched. I followed this thread and tried all of the suggested settings, she's not stable a 5.0. I really feel like it could run at 5.0 but I don't know the magic setting to get me there. Vcore isn't the ticket. I'm sort of resigned to the fact that this chip is a 4.9 max, I'm not complaining about how little v it takes to run at 4.9, I just wanted 5.0 stable.
