    Hmm. Might have to save my current settings to USB, flash over to this and try it out.

    Elmor says you can flash back using USB flashback still.

    May I kindly ask what improvements this BIOS version has? I currently have 902 (as it's stable) 1002 increased my temperatures by 10 degrees, plus I have another issue with the Aura software (I presume it's un-related)

    I tried BIOS 1106 after having used Beta BIOS 081 in conjunction with Asus Zenstate 0.2.2.

    I had a horrible experience trying to Overclock my Gskill Flare X DDR4-3200 ram (2 x 8) which ran perfectly with BIOS 081.

    USB flashback saved my Chestnuts. Be sure to rename the "older" BIOS that you want back on your machine to C6H.CAP before you try USB flashback.

    USB flashback is explained in section 2.2 of your manual.

    I'm back to 081 BIOS and staying there.

    BTW, I'm using the Asus software Zenstates 0.2.2 for Overclocking my 1800x and it works very well. Lower temps and lower voltages to achieve OCs. I've settled on 4 Ghz although 40.25x (@ 4017Mhz) also worked but I had to bump the Vcore setting to 1.4125v in Zenstate for P0.

    Right now I'm running my Gskill Flare X ram at 3200 by enabling D.O.C.P. standard in the BIOS, using 1.36v both for Dimm v AND cold boot Dimm setting, SOC manual at 1.15 and all other settings at Auto except disabling Core performance boost in BIOS. Then I installed Zenstate and used the following settings:
    P0=40x 1.39375V (needed more juice with higher running ram)
    P1=30x 1.05v
    P2=22x 0.9v
    Check Core C6, Package C6, apply at system start and Tray icon at start then click the "Apply" tab.

    Also make sure that in you power savings setup that if you have it at High Power (I do) you need to set the min power state back to @20% so the P1 and P2 will downclock.

    This is a great little tool written by elmor, who should get the Nobel prize for it (hear that committee?).

    Well I've only played with it for a few minutes here. But based on fan noise, my CPU temp appears to be noticeably higher.

    I have all my stable 1002 settings written down. Set all of those the same in 1106, including fan profiles, and actually lowered the CPU voltage a bit. And my fans are quite loud while just idle at the desktop. Where as with 1002 and the same settings it was completely silent when idle, very quiet in games, and only started to get any real volume under stress testing load.

    Going to play with the monitor section some more to make sure there's not just something wrong in there that I missed. My fan RPMs don't seem to be in the right range compared to a screenshot I took while testing before. 10 degrees lower than the screenshot, and the RPMs are running higher.

    So maybe it's not actually the temps at all.

    ::edit::
    Nope, definitely the temperature reading. Idle temperature is 14 degrees hotter. Rolled back to 1002 and snagged the below comparison.
    These are with the exact same BIOS settings. Both allowed to idle at the desktop for about 10 minutes, and then the HWINFO panel reset 5 seconds after starting Prime.

    One of the expectations from this bios was that it would suppose to correct the temperature readings. On the contrary a lot of users reported that the temperature readings were +5-10 compared to 1002 bios. I still could not understand how ASUS team could produce such a defective product (either bios or mobo; have no idea which one. May be both!).

    Regards.

    On the other hand. Are we sure the 1002 temps are indeed the correct ones?
    I've put a lot of work into my fan profiles since then, but the temperatures I'm getting on 1106 are actually pretty similar to the temps I had when I first got the board, which was on 0902.

    Hey guys, new to the forums and new to AMD Ryzen! Just got my 1700 and Crosshair Hero VI last week and I've been loving it!
    Glad I found this thread as I've been monitoring bios updates, board came with 902, I flashed it via USB to 1002 and so far it's been ok, a few buggy things here and there but for the most part it's been a good learning experience.

    alxanderman, please keep us posted on your experiences.

    Is anyone experiencing different temperature data between HW Monitor and Aida64? At times I see differences of almost 10c

    Hay, can you link to Zenstates please, thanks much. [EDIT] is this the same as Zenmaster, but for Linux?

    Very Important to go to tweakers paradise and disable sense-mi if you have a 1700. It will show temps lower than they actually are if you don't have the 17\1800x.
